The Battle of Skako was seen as a turning point during Operation Durge's Lance and showed the succes of this new class of ships. Causing considerable losses amongst the Confederate Third Fleet, forcing the fleet under command of General Grievous to retreat. The arrival of the Pride of the Core marked a turning point in the battle. A desperate Republic was trying to defend the beleaguered world from a Separatist attempt to relief the siege. It wasn't long before the Pride of the Core got its baptism of fire at the planet of Skako. Concurrent to this event was the Separatist assault on the Core Worlds, Operation Durge's Lance. Near the end of 20 BBY the Pride of the Core had finished production. The Mandator II-class Star Dreadnought was the third most powerful vessel class in the galaxy, superseded only by the Executor-class and the two Death Stars (though most experts refer to the Death Stars as battle-stations and not as actual ships, making the Mandator II-class the second-most powerful vessel in the galaxy). The Mandator-II-line would be an upgrade from the Mandator-class Star Dreadnaught. Kuat Drive Yards had cut all ties with the now Separatist aligned Techno Union and started to exclusively produce for the Galactic Republic.
The Pride of the Core began construction shortly after the Clone Wars broke out. The ship continued to see service during the Galactic Empire. Tactics will carry the day here, but we don't know enough about the Mandator to speak with any certainty about it. That is an edge, but not an overwhelming one. Ships such as the battleship and Dreadnought are ships with a lenght of over 5 km, compaired to the more "classic" Imperial Class I and II star destroyers that had only 1.6 km (Praetor Class was 5 km in leght, the Bellator was in the same area, and the Executor was 19km).The Pride of the Core was the first ship of the new Mandator II-class Star Dreadnaught, produced during the end of the Clone Wars. The Executor is somewhere between 1.67 - 3.87 times more powerful then the Mandator.
